Learners Permit
Learners Permit Requirements
- Applicants must have a minimum age of 15 years and 9 months.
- All required tests must be passed by the applicant with a 80% or better.
- If the applicant is under the age of 18 a parent/guardian must co-sign the learner's permit
application.
- A supervising driver (21 years or older) who has held a license for a minimum of 3 years must
accompany the learner's permit holder while driving.
- The MVA issues a learner's permit practice log which must be completed for the learner's permit
holder by the supervising driver.
- Learner's Permits are valid for 2 years from their issue date.
- You do not need a learner's permit to begin classroom portion of driver's education.
